Thor is the Director of Intellectual Property at Blackmagic Design - Blackmagic Design is one of the world's leading innovators and manufacturers of creative video technology. Thor is a Registered Patent attorney and before joining Blackmagic Design he worked in private practice for over 20 years. In this capacity he assisted local start-ups, SMEs and listed companies to navigate the patent process, address patent risk and helped them to compete throughout the world. Thor has worked with companies with R&D teams that range from a handful of staff, through to teams with hundreds of developers, scientists and engineers, to help those companies foster a culture that embraces IP capture and creation, and has helped them build commercially relevant, valuable patent and design portfolios. He has developed and executed patent strategies that have produced a 10X increase in granted patent holdings for clients going through phases of rapid technical development, and assisted companies to implement patent programs from scratch.
