Maria is head of intellectual property at Australia’s largest university, Monash University. For the past 16 years, she and her team have managed a large patent portfolio, currently comprising around 400 patent families. Many of these technologies have been licensed or assigned to industry partners, whilst others have formed the basis of new and innovative University spin-out companies. Maria is passionate about technology commercialisation and associated IP strategy. She is a registered patent and trade marks attorney, a member of IPTA and AICD, and has previously held IP manager roles at research institutes and small biotechs.
