Kate Cassidy, a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, is an experienced trial lawyer representing clients in complex technology and intellectual property disputes. Kate excels as a creative litigation strategist, focusing on trial themes and case economics from the outset of every engagement and then brings her determination and faithful dedication to winning at trial to every case so that the client is best positioned to achieve success, either through trial or a favorable settlement. Kate was previously affiliated with Quinn Emanuel for over fourteen years where she handled significant complex intellectual property and commercial disputes. She has successfully handled a variety of litigations and arbitrations on behalf of startups through large companies (including Fortune 500) from varied industries including software, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotech, materials and textiles, telecom, internet infrastructure, financial services, and retail and consumer goods. Kate maintains an active pro bono practice, including a longstanding representation of Advocates for Children, which helps New York children with special needs obtain a free and appropriate education. Kate received her LL.M. in International Legal Studies with distinction from Georgetown University Law Center. She received her LL.B with honors from the University of Adelaide Law School and B.S. from the University of Adelaide, where she majored in biochemistry, microbiology and immunology.
