Xiaopeng Ke currently serves as director of patent legal affairs at Alibaba Group, overseeing the management and operation of the group’s global patent portfolio. Amidst the rapidly evolving global intellectual property landscape, Mr Ke has driven continuous breakthroughs for Alibaba in patent licensing and asset monetisation. By leading complex licensing negotiations and ecosystem collaborations across multiple jurisdictions and technological domains, he has developed integrated legal, technical, and commercial solutions for key areas such as Standard Essential Patents (SEPs), video codecs, and the Internet of Things (IoT). His efforts have established a more transparent, efficient, and pragmatic licensing framework. Before joining Alibaba, Mr Ke held senior roles at major multinational technology companies, including Foxconn, ZTE, NXP Semiconductors, and Visionox. He is a qualified PRC patent attorney, PRC lawyer, and corporate legal counsel, possessing extensive and comprehensive experience in IP practice and management. Mr Ke has been recognised with numerous prestigious accolades, including Asia IP Elite, Outstanding IP Manager in China, Outstanding IP Team Leader in China. He has previously served as chairman of the Oriental IP Club and chairman of the China Enterprise IP Development Salon. Furthermore, he co-edited the professional publications The Way of IP I and The Way of IP II.
