Ash Zahr is the Chief Intellectual Property Counsel at Rivian where he and his team built its global IP program. As Chief IP Counsel, he drives IP functions and initiatives that help reduce Rivian’s IP risk and protect Rivian’s brand and innovations. Ash takes most pride in having contributed to a culture of innovation and IP engagement that helps to drive Rivian’s successes. Partnering with company leaders and integrating his team into relevant technological and functional disciplines, his team continuously pushes to add to the intellectual property value proposition at Rivian. Prior to Rivian, Ash spent nearly a decade representing large multi-national automotive, technology, and consumer electronics companies, both as in-house and outside counsel, and before that served as a Primary Patent Examiner at the USPTO.
