With over 33 years of experience in IP, he has built a solid career combining technical expertise, regulatory insight, and a strong business-oriented approach, advising companies on the protection, management, and value maximization of their technological assets. Throughout his career, Roberto has developed extensive international experience, having worked across markets such as Latin America, Japan, Asia, Pacific, Africa, and Eastern Europe. This global exposure enables him to deliver solutions aligned with international strategies while addressing the specific requirements of different jurisdictions. His practice is distinguished by his ability to structure and implement effective patent portfolio strategies, always taking into account his clients' commercial objectives and competitive positioning. Prior to joining Daniel Law, Roberto served for over a decade as vice president at a French multinational pharmaceutical company, where he led projects involving intangible asset management, regulatory affairs, patent litigation and global intellectual property policies. This corporate background reinforces his pragmatic, results-driven approach, supported by a deep understanding of internal corporate dynamics and the regulatory challenges of highly regulated industries. In addition to his legal practice, Roberto serves as academic director of the Galaxea Foundation, where he plays a leading role in shaping academic and institutional initiatives focused on intellectual property, innovation, and technology transfer. In this capacity, he actively fosters dialogue between academia, industry, and policymakers, contributing to the development of strategic thought leadership and capacity-building programs with international reach. Roberto Ribeiro is actively involved with Interpat, contributing to advocacy initiatives and strategic discussions within the association. He also serves as a member of the board of directors and executive committee of ABPI, and is a long-standing member of the annual congress organizing committee, as well as coordinator of the plant varieties and biotech committee. Roberto holds degrees in law and civil engineering, as well as an MBA in business administration, reflecting a multidisciplinary background that enables him to operate confidently at the intersection of technology, governance, and business strategy. He is a member of the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association (ABPI), Licensing Executive Society (LES) and is admitted before the São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro Bar Associations (OAB/SP and OAB/RJ). He is fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish and conversational in German, serving as a strategic advisor in cross-border negotiations and international projects.
