Monica Baig-Silva is vice president and deputy chief intellectual property counsel at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where she provides strategic IP counsel and support across the company’s life sciences, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, and clinical trials businesses. With more than 15 years of experience, Monica advises on a broad range of intellectual property matters, including IP protection, infringement, employment agreements, contract negotiations, M&A due diligence, IP operations, and cybersecurity. A recognised leader in trade secret protection, she founded Thermo Fisher’s Trade Secret and Risk Assessment Committee to help monitor and strengthen company practices. Monica also serves as co-chair of the Intellectual Property Owners Association’s Trade Secret Committee. Prior to joining Thermo Fisher Scientific, she practiced at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in San Diego.
