Akiko Araki is the founder of Araki International IP & Law, a boutique law firm established in 2021 focusing on cross-border intellectual property and technology matters.

She advises on complex, multi-jurisdictional IP matters, with a particular focus on global SEP portfolio licensing, cross-border patent disputes, and technology transactions. She has extensive experience in SEP/FRAND-related licensing matters and has been involved in parallel litigation across multiple jurisdictions, including the US, Europe, and China.

Akiko is dual-qualified in Japan and California and is also a registered patent attorney in Japan. She brings over 15 years of experience across international and leading Japanese law firms, including Morgan Lewis, Baker McKenzie, Oh-Ebashi LPC & Partners, and Atsumi & Sakai, as well as in-house experience in patent licensing.

Her practice focuses on advising clients in areas of high legal and business uncertainty, particularly SEP and AI. She is known for providing integrated advice that combines legal, business, and strategic perspectives, working closely with clients to support decision-making and execution.
