Sami Al-Marzoog is an experienced patent and trade secret trial lawyer. His practice focuses on disputes in federal district court and the International Trade Commission. Sami has litigated multiple cases through trial, securing both multimillion-dollar verdicts and complete defense verdicts for clients. Most recently, Sami worked on a multibillion-dollar dispute related to semiconductor manufacturing technology, hailed as “one of the most complex trade secret battles in the semiconductor industry” (IAM, January 17, 2025, GlobalFoundries and IBM Call Truce On Semiconductor Trade Secret Battle). Sami represents clients across various technologies including semiconductors, chemicals, computer networking, automotive, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. Sami has authored numerous publications on SEPs, including the UK Court’s jurisdiction over interim licenses and the US Patent & Trademark Office's new SEP working group. Sami received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
