Alex Wilson is one of the founding partners of Powell Gilbert, patent litigation focused law firm with offices in London, Dusseldorf and Dublin. He is a UPC Representative, UK Solicitor Advocate and, Irish Solicitor. He has represented clients in a range of divisions of the UPC as well as the English courts and has more than two decades of experience in guiding clients from in international patent litigation strategies, particularly in the SEP field. Alex has acted in cases spanning a wide range of technologies, including HEVC, speech coding, Wi‑Fi, microcontrollers, graphical user interfaces, semiconductors, graphics processing and mobile communications. His fluency in both French and German has allowed him to spend periods working in leading practices in Paris and Düsseldorf. He is a CEDR Accredited mediator and PMAC neutral. He is joint editor of an international commentary on the Rules of Procedure of the Unified Patent Court, a member of the PMAC FRAND Guidelines Working Group and Vice President of EPLAW.
