Pete Damerell is a partner at Powell Gilbert, www.powellgilbert.com, of Powell Gilbert, patent litigation focused law firm with offices in London, Dusseldorf and Dublin. He is a UPC Representative, UK Solicitor Advocate and, Irish Solicitor. He has been a patent litigator for approximately 20 years, and most of his practice is currently focused on SEP / FRAND disputes in the UK and UPC. Pete has been involved in a number of the leading SEP/FRAND disputes in the UK. This includes representing Huawei in the seminal Unwired Planet v Huawei dispute, ZTE in its recent dispute with Samsung, and Tesla against Avanci and InterDigital which was recently decided in Tesla’s favour by the UK Supreme Court. He routinely advises on cross-border SEP/FRAND strategies, including the different approaches to FRAND determinations in different courts, anti-suit injunctions and the issues surrounding UK interim licence declarations. He is a member of EPLAW, AIPPI and LES and a Chair of AIPPI’s Enforcement Standing Committee.
