Tristan Hsu is senior manager, inbound licensing at Acer. With more than 15 years of experience in intellectual property, Mr Hsu oversees Acer's inbound licensing strategy and coordinates global patent litigation and licensing negotiations across the ICT sector. His work spans proceedings before US District Courts, the US International Trade Commission, the Unified Patent Court, and courts in jurisdictions including Germany, China, India and Brazil. Mr Hsu has extensive experience in standard-essential patent (SEP) licensing, FRAND negotiations and cross-border dispute resolution. Working at the intersection of legal, commercial and technical considerations, he develops data-driven licensing strategies, evaluates patent portfolios and licensing positions, and collaborates with internal stakeholders and external counsel to support commercially sound business decisions. Mr Hsu holds an LLB and an MS in Bio-Industrial Mechatronics Engineering from National Taiwan University. He also completed the Judicial Program at the University of California, Berkeley.
