Robert is the head of intellectual property at Charles Russell Speechlys and is recognised as a leading UK based IP litigator with a focus on high-tech patent cases and complex multijurisdictional FRAND / RAND licencing disputes. He is recognised for his technical abilities, grasp of legal detail and understanding of the wider strategic context, equally importantly for being easy to work with. With an academic background in chemistry and chemical physics (in which fields he secured his PhD and later worked as a research fellow) Robert has advised in patent matters encompassing a wide range of technologies including streaming, audio and video codecs; data centres, data processing; AI; telecommunications; LED devices; medical imaging and medical devices; user interfaces; user experience; Bluetooth; mobile device management; SPCs and the SPC Regulation; contact lenses; retail, consumer goods, construction and pharmaceuticals.
