Antonio de Figueiredo Murta Filho is founding partner of Murta Goyanes Advogados and State Attorney for the State of Rio de Janeiro, with extensive experience in intellectual property law. His practice focuses on trademarks, unfair competition, trade secrets, copyright, software, patents, design and IP disputes. Mr Murta serves on the Board of Directors of the ABPI; INTA’s Enforcement Committee and MARQUES’ Unfair Competition Team. A former lecturer in Commercial Law and Intellectual Property at PUC-Rio, he has published on IP and unfair competition. He is the author of Regime e Natureza Jurídica da Concorrência Parasitária, published by Edições Almedina in 2025. Mr Murta holds postgraduate qualifications from Queen Mary University of London and the Associação Portuguesa de Direito Intelectual (APDI), and a Master’s degree from the University of Lisbon, where he is currently a PhD candidate.
