Júlio César Castelo Branco Reis Moreira is the president of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI). Dr Moreira holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the Federal University of Bahia (1990), a master's degree in petroleum sciences and engineering from the State University of Campinas (1993), and a doctorate in chemical and biochemical process technology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2006). Since 1998, Dr Moreira has been an industrial property researcher at INPI, serving as patent director from June 2011 to June 2018. Dr Moreira has experience in intellectual property, specifically patents, and petroleum engineering. Dr Moreira worked as an independent researcher at the Petrobras Research Center (CENPES), focusing on three main areas: thermodynamic modelling, organic deposits and phase equilibrium.
