Founded on 1983, ASPI emerged with the mission of establishing in São Paulo an important entity that supports and diffuses intellectual property in Brazil, aiming at training and updating professionals and academics on the field. ASPI promotes the dissemination and teaching of relevant, often pioneering topics within the scope of IP and related areas, through congress (held always in March), conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops, courses and study groups, as well as periodic editions of the ASPI Magazine and Bulletin with doctrine and jurisprudence related to matter. The Association also aims to represent the interests of its members and of the category in governmental entities such as INPI (Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property), GIPI (Inter-Ministerial Group on Intellectual Property) and CNCP (National Council to Combat Piracy and Crimes against Intellectual Property), among others.
