Giovanni Trabucco is a Senior IP Counsel at Meril Life Sciences. He oversees European litigation, prosecution, and transactional matters across all areas of IP law, with a particular focus on patent litigation both at the national level and before the UPC. He previously worked as a Senior Associate in the IPMT department at Hogan Lovells in Milan and was seconded to the firm’s Munich and Düsseldorf offices. Giovanni graduated in Law from the University of Milan. He completed LLM programs at the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center and at Cornell University (Cornell Tech), as a Fulbright scholar. He obtained a PhD (cum laude) from Bocconi University, defending a thesis entitled “Artificial intelligence as a tool for research and development in European patent law". At Bocconi, Giovanni also held several courses and guest lectures on IP law to undergraduate students.
