Dr. Justus Baron is the founder and chief executive officer of FRANDLY, a platform that delivers detailed data on standard-essential patent (SEP) licensing, including royalty information, market analytics, and relevant documentation. FRANDLY equips professionals and legal experts with targeted data and insights to support evidence-based decisions in SEP negotiations, litigation, valuation, and policy. Additionally, Justus is also Research Director at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and Founder and CEO of BRELA, where he leads empirical, evidence-based analysis at the intersection of economics, law, and technology. Justus served on the European Commission’s SEPs Expert Group and led a consortium assisting the European Commission with an impact assessment of its proposed SEP regulation. He has frequently been consulted by government bodies on SEPs and standardization. He regularly provides expert analysis and testimony on SEP/FRAND licensing and standards-related topics.
