For more than 20 years, Mauricio has engaged in numerous licensing strategy and license negotiations and related litigations for various clients, including numerous worldwide standard essential patent licensing matters. He has technical and legal experience covering a full range of technical standards including standards directed to wireless communications, multi-media content (encoding/decoding/transmission), network communications, and the like. Mauricio has helped clients set up licensing programs, identify and cultivate essential patent assets, develop responses to licensing offers and develop holistic licensing programs. Mauricio is also a frequent lecturer on licensing topics including data privacy and protection, standards essential patents licensing programs, non-disclosure agreements, employment agreements, open-source software, etc. Mauricio is also a thought leader and frequent lecturer/author on various patent and copyright topics, emerging technologies (e.g., AI, Distributed Ledger, etc.), trade secret, and additional IP topics.
